teachers will:
• Have an acute awareness of the needs of the individual students they teach to better enable them to reach their potential.
• Possess a thorough knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for the subject taught. Foster a love for learning and nurture students to be engaged, inspired and curious.
• Plan and deliver well structured lessons which fit in with the scheme of work, employing an
appropriate range of teaching practices. Teachers are trusted to structure lessons and teach in their own styles and are not required to follow a standard format.
• Carry out formative and summative assessment on a regular basis, and use this to tailor
teaching to.
• Report on student progress in a timely fashion in the manner prescribed.
• Reflect on and seek to continually improve their practice, and be willing to engage in
collaboration, CPD and an open door policy.
• Insist the highest standards of behaviour, based on mutual respect and trust, both in lessons
and around the school. Apply rewards and sanctions consistently, in line with school policy.
• Be generous in their time in terms of attending plays, concerts and sporting fixtures.
• Be willing to assist with school trips from time to time.
• Lead by example in terms of punctuality, appearance, attendance, work ethic and positivity.
• Undertake supervision duties as required, including covering lessons.
• Contribute widely to the co-curricular programme.
• Contribute to the pastoral care of pupils, for example, by acting as a personal tutor to a
group of students.
• Maintain an awareness of, and follow school policies. Of particular importance are policies

Minimum Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status
• A minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience of Primary School (whether in the UK or
overseas)*
• Native English speaker
• A willingness to be widely involved in a co-curricular programme
• An understanding that marking and preparation for lessons can rarely be completed during
the school day alone
• An open mind, resilience and capacity for hard work
• A positive attitude

• In the first year of the school’s operation, many subjects be a department of one, so we will be
  looking for people confident to take sole responsibility for their teaching, and who may go on to be

Remuneration Package and Benefits
• 30-40k rmb/month
• Additional responsibility allowances are available for a variety of roles which may be
discussed at interview.
• On the completion of a two-year contract, a bonus of one month’s salary is paid. If you are
asked to sign another contract, an additional bonus of one month’s salary is paid if you agree
to that.
• You and your wife or husband will receive an annual flight allowance which will cover a
typical economy class return fare from Shanghai to London, and transportation between
Nanjing to Shanghai.
• Each family will receive a relocation allowance to assist with the shipping of additional
luggage and single flights at the start and the end of the (final) contract.
• Furnished accommodation (within a maximum of 15 minutes’ drive from the school) will be
provided as follows: *Single (one bed) *Couple (two bed) *One additional bed per child, depending on age, at the discretion of the school
• Each member of your family will receive medical insurance of an international standard.
• Holiday entitlement will be as per the school holidays, but staff will be required in school for additional dates to be advised for induction, training and CPD.
• Tuition fees for up to two children to attend the Nord Anglia British International School in Nanjing.*
