Academic Mentor

Main Responsibilities:
• Educate high school students to enhance their academic potential and strength by creatively utilizing EBF elite curriculum and working efficiently with EBF US experts
• Educate students on appropriate interviewing techniques, self-assessment tools, and application essay writing techniques
• Work effectively one-on-one with students and be able to address concerns they will have during the college application process
• Design and teach reading and writing sessions with appropriate assignments
• Lead group sessions and provide written/verbal feedback
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) from an accredited college/university in the US, UK, or Canada
• Fluent to native English level proficiency
• Strong work ethics; be punctual, reliable, accurate, and open-minded
• Effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Problem-solving mindset and time management skills
• Ability to both work independently and collaborate with a team
• Willing to work some evenings and weekends
Desired:
• Chinese language ability
• A passion for reading and writing, as well as educating ESL students regarding associated abilities
• A passion for inspiring and challenging ESL students to think deeper
• Experience in higher education, preferably in academic advising and/or other relevant experience in areas such as educational planning, academic success, or counseling.
• Experience with college level essay/dissertation/research paper
