Technical Director
at Zhongshan Aquael Sanitary Co. Ltd in Zhongshan, Nanlang
Aquael is a Canadian-owned shower door manufacturer and exporter based in Nanlang, Zhongshan, halfway between Zhongshan and Zhuhai.
We are looking for a full-time Technical Director who will be in charge of design, engineering and inspection procedures.
Aquael are looking for an individual who has the drive, experience and structure to move forward the technical expertise of the company. The person would need to have a broad range of experience with leading and developing technical teams within a manufacturing environment and implementing/improving Engineering and Quality systems.
Key requirements :
• Experienced Engineering manager with broad range of technical knowledge in mechanical Engineering for consumer products.
• Strong technical experience developing and implementing products in a fast moving consumer environment.
• Experienced in managing and developing Engineering teams (preferably including QC), guiding & providing technical support to ensure quick and effective implementation of new products.
• Proven experience of project managing new product introductions on time and to budget/cost.
• Skilled at working with other departments in a team environment, encouraging and supporting them to progress their own improvements. Good ability to use interpersonal skills to ensure good technical & personal relationships between departments.
Technical background to include:
• Knowledge of materials including Aluminium, Brass/Zinc alloys, Stainless Steel, Glass, and Plastics preferable.
• Knowledge of different manufacturing methods and processes including extruding, moulding, casting, pressing/fabrication with associated fixtures. Experience in managing manufacturing improvement programmes preferable.
• Experience with implementing and improving technical procedures including New Product Introduction, Quality systems (in line with ISO 9001 or similar QC Management standards), data management & engineering changes. Some knowledge of MRP systems & databases and their implementation would be an advantage.
• Proven background in cost reduction programmes and product standardization, including appropriate testing to ensure conformity to international standards.
• Experience of budgeting for change including justifications for improvements (savings, payback, etc).
• Proven ability to investigate & analyse logically Engineering, Quality and Customer problems to enable quick and effective problem solving.
• Ability to review and understand international approvals standards and communicate the requirements throughout the company including technical and testing requirements.
