Role
Interested in working in a high-impact role with the opportunity to flex both your creative and strategic muscles? We are looking for an experienced, innovative, results-oriented leader for our Online & Digital marketing team .
The ideal candidate will be able to bridge database learnings, primary and secondary research, competitive intelligence and marketing savvy to build powerful promotion and communication programs. They will be an expert in managing and navigating cross-functional efforts, as they will partner with our sourcing, purchasing, customer support and technical support teams as well as interaction with external vendors. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence with data and logical argument.
The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for customers and possess a solid understanding of the current literary landscape, as well as possess exceptional skills in project management and effective merchandising strategies. They will be detail-oriented and organized, capable of leading multiple projects at once, comfortable working with teams, vendors, and management. They’ll need to be a smart risk taker, and can not only deliver ideas but also transform them into scalable programs. Must be able to work at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas for growth) while managing a team that executes at the tactical level.
The role is based 100% in our office in Shenzhen. The role may involve overseas travel to visit outsource providers.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan and best-in-class customer experience, including editorial, traffic generation, and site merchandising.
• Lead a team of site merchandisers, editors, and product managers, set a high bar for innovation, efficiency, creativity, and coach team members to reach that bar.
• Shape fundamental design elements of the website, and ensure that the right voice and high-quality content are maintained.
• Develop business rationales for new features and develop and execute project plans for those features, launch and maintain new stores.
• Optimize all web pages, product listings, sponsored links, and communications for optimal search/browse performance and customer experience.
• Manage cross organizational and internal resources to deliver a best-in-class differentiated customer experience, provide authoritative, compelling editorial content.
• Develop, supervise, report, and continually improve upon “success” metrics.
• Have a complete understanding of Media customer needs, both existing and potential.
• Understand business, marketing, and legal constraints and opportunities to drive the growth of the Media business.
• Work closely with PR to compliment any PR initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS Required
• 5-7 years of relevant work experience in online marketing, marketing communications, or related field
• Demonstrated analytical skills; comfortable with a P&L, business trend analysis and forecasting
• Demonstrated track record of hiring, leading, motivating, and developing employees
• Understanding of social media, mobile commerce, and other new ways to interact with customers
• Strong vendor management experience/skills
• Familiarity with HTML, XML, MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to think and influence multiple stakeholders both quantitatively and qualitatively
• Superior verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact with senior management.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done
• Broad understanding of both online and offline marketing strategy development and channel execution
• Keen attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects /responsibilities
• Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment with competing priorities
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams across business units
• Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving; thinks big, starts small, grows fast
• Proven track-record of delivering online traffic growth from multiple sources including direct, SEO, sponsored links, banner ads, affiliates, and email
• M.B.A. is preferred.
