Subsurface Manager
at Tiandi Energy Inc. in Beijing
Report to: Operation Director
Subordinators: 20-40
Responsibility:
• Overall responsible for the day to day management of oilfield secondary development project(s) including planning, execution, supervision, and customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with operation director(s) and technical masters to (1) define project scope and workflow, (2) identify appropriate team resources, and (3) prepare project Gantt chart and key deliverables schedule.
• Coordinate petroleum engineers among the projects which are charged, optimize working efficiency.
• The maintaining of close contact with respective clients throughout the project to ensure satisfactory reaction to client’s needs or criticisms. Lead project kickoff meeting, instruct the team in terms of “who”, “what”, “by when” in order to ensure that project deliverables meet quality review and client deliverable deadlines .
• Manage project cost and delivery risk, define cost control breakdown and system for cost reporting & analysis.
• Own customer relationship for operations team – facilitate conference calls with clients to discuss project progress, respond to customer questions and other customer interfacing requirements. Regularly and timely reporting to company management team in order to inform and/or to look for advising / support Prepare regular and ad hoc project status reports for senior management.
• Manage a multi-functional team(s), allocate work reasonably, inspire and motivate team members.
• Complete ad hoc special projects for senior management as needed.
Qualifications:
• 8+ years’ oil & gas industry working experience including 3+ year’s experiences in management both project management and people management.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Reservoir Engineering, geology, production engineering and oil & gas field development engineering, etc.;
• Experienced in coordinating & controlling team delivery in accordance with project schedule and quality requirements.
• In depth understanding and knowledge of latest relevant oilfield secondary development within the industry.
• Skilled in one or two specialized software (Petrel, Eclipse, CMG, VIP, DSS, Pipesi, Geoframe, Discovery) is preferred;
• Familiar with oilfield second development programming process, reservoir simulation, dynamic analysis, production process and workflow, etc.
• Familiar with the oil and gas extraction process, with the remaining oil and the secondary development of research capacity.
• Have relevant geology & geophysics knowledge or experience including Well sections, the grid-like map drawing, sedimentary facies segments, vertical permeability, and then understanding of distribution of the scale porosity and permeability in full flat distribution interbeds.
• Foreign block oilfield development related work experience is preferred;
• Demand high standards and hold people accountable for performance.
• Lead, encourage, inspire and support teams to develop confidence and capability to realize their potential.
• Key attributes - Attention to detail; quality, people and results oriented; and astute business acumen.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in Chinese and English.
