Business Networking Event Host
at WORDOOR Technology Co., Ltd in Shanghai
WORDOOR Technology Co., LTD. is an international language and cultural exchange company who is currently focused on building an online educational and social networking platform. Our aim is to create an online community that is able to provide individuals with language and cultural exchange services and of course to socialize with other language learners. The full online platform will provisionally launch this September, however as part of an ongoing promotion campaign, the company is scheduling an number of ‘offline live meet-up’ events.
For this position, you will be the main host of the seminars, focusing on Chinese/Western business culture exchange. However, not only will you be the networking event host, you will also be the ‘offline events’ spokesperson. With that being said, you will represent WORDOOR’s ‘offline meet up events’ (which may include features in promotional materials displayed around the local Chinese community). The frequency of this role will presumably run for two hours, once every two weeks. However, as the number of our ‘offline events’ increase throughout different Shanghai regions, the frequency of your role will consecutively increase.
We are looking for a confident and experienced, native English- speaking host to lead this series of events and contribute ideas to ensure they are successful. The successful candidate will display;
• Fluency in English (Native-speaking)
• Excellent public speaking and social skills.
• Great communications skills, including the ability to listen to and share information clearly and follow directions accurately.
• The ability to work as part of a small team in effective co-operation.
• Good time management.
• A positive outlook and a flexible approach to work.
• A smart appearance.
Experience/skills;
• Education to bachelor’s degree level or higher.
• Some experience public speaking/talking to large groups of people.
• An excellent knowledge of Western business culture/practices.
• Some experience working in a Chinese business. (desirable)
The role would be ideally suited to someone interested in gaining experience in cultural exchange and language learning, or simply public speaking and teaching small groups.
The role will be infrequent, to suit the schedule of events to be decided.
