Reporting to: Head of Commercial Banking
Main Function:
Responsible for leading a team of Credit Analysts in writing credit proposal for clients, early warning, as well as portfolio management. Communicate with risk management. As a member of the Commercial Banking Country Management Team contribute to the overall growth and franchise development of the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Credit Analysts in preparing top quality credit proposal for new and existing clients. Ensure workflow is evenly distributed within Credit Analyst.
- Assist Relationship Managers in conducting client screening process, structuring the facility and applying the relevant covenants/clauses to minimize and mitigate the identified credit risks.
- Follow up on the pending documentation and compliance to the agreed covenant/clauses. Provide credit inputs on the Facility Letter and other documents and involve in document discussion together with Legal, Risk and Credit Administration.
- Regularly liaise with Risk on new deals, industry preview, and new facility structure. Conduct assessment on portfolio, including stress test during economic downturn or unfavorable situation. Conducting portfolio monitoring to ensure diversification on the portfolio to minimize credit risks.
- Attract, train, reward, and retain high caliber professionals in order to build a high quality Credit Analyst. Assess strengths and weaknesses of all Credit Analyst and formulate associated development plans that address areas of training and job focus. Participate in recruitment to attract various levels of credit professionals and ensure an optimal mix of commercial, structuring and analytical skill sets.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge in Credit Risk including product risk, market risk, reputation, documentation and operational risk.
- Analytical knowledge.
- Team worker/leadership.
- Good communication skills.
- Sufficient knowledge supporting applications such as Spreading, Rating, Deal Analyzer.
- 8 years experience in commercial or corporate credit risk analysis and/or corporate/commercial banking relationship management.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Able to work under pressure with limited time frame.
