PMO Deputy Director (Shanghai)
The Program Management Office (PMO) Deputy Director (Shanghai) is a management position responsible for program management of the TP-1 Reactor Plant Project and the associated Technology Development Program (TDP). This Deputy Director will be located at the PMO offices in Shanghai, China and will report to the PMO Director.
Responsibilities:
The PMO Deputy Director will:
- Manage all activities in China and off-shore activities contracted by Chinese entities related to the TP-1 Project and the TDP.
- Act for the PMO Director when authorized by written delegation of authority.
- Chair the Level 1 Configuration Management Change Control Board on a rotating six-month basis starting on July 1, 2011.
- Supervise PMO Design Liaison Engineers while they are at the Shanghai offices.
- Manage cost and schedule issues for the TP-1 Project and represent organizations reporting to the NEA in the PMO for cost and schedule issues for the TDP.
- Be accountable for any NEA Program Milestones on the Program Milestone Schedule (Levels 0 and 1).
- Recommend to the PMO Director release of budget authorizations from the Management Reserve for requests from organizations reporting to the NEA.
Key Qualifications:
The successful applicant must:
- Have a technical degree with at least 20 years experience in nuclear program management. Multi-national program management experience is highly desirable, but not required.
- Provide written information supporting his/her abilities to manage large multinational nuclear programs including the size, complexity and organizational structures of previous assignments.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in technical and programmatic conflict resolution. The ability to communicate in Chinese is highly desirable, but not required.
- Be able to relocate to the Shanghai, China area and be available for significant amounts of foreign travel.
- Be able to obtain a work permit for the Peoples Republic of China.
