Position Title: R&D Program Manager
Reports to: APAC Product R&D Director
Location: Beijing, China
Summary:
Seeking an R&D Program Manager to work with Marketing, Operations, and Business leadership to develop and continually refine product/process based growth strategy; develop and lead project teams toward delivery of product and process development programs targeting to exceed stakeholder and customer expectations; teaming with R&D and cross-functional leaders on a global basis lead improvement in business growth processes to deliver gains in business performance from R&D investments; effectively promote cross functional engagement in R&D processes maximizing on time delivery, product/process quality and business financial performance; lead the development and execution of technology platforms driving future capability needs supporting long term product line strategies and future business growth
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Responsible for significant project/program leadership having matrix team responsibility for program delivery, budget, quality, customer satisfaction and resulting product vitality; this includes responsibility for: active coaching, mentoring, performance evaluation input, etc.
· Lead change and challenge the status quo, demonstrating boundary-less behavior; drive creativity that delivers innovative solutions exceeding customer expectations
· Engage and lead the global cross-functional team to aid in the robust commercialization of innovative solutions and product technologies
· Demonstrate and develop strong analytical and statistical process design skills, leading risk reduction through the conceptual design, development, and commercialization stages of R&D; exhibit best-in-class project management and influencing skills
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills, fostering collaborative research in a team environment
Job Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
· PhD or M.S. with relevant experience in the field of Chemistry, Material Science, Applied Science, Chemical/Material Engineering or appropriate comparable disciplines
· Minimum 8-10 years experience in an industrial R&D environment
· Highly self motivated, internally driven individual with a passion for innovation and thirst to lead change
· Excellent communication skills in English with proficiency in Mandarin is preferred
· Aptitude to adapt and learn quickly in changing environments with strong project management skills is desirable
