Chief Mine Engineer, Gold – China.
This requirement is for a Chief Mine Engineer to take responsibility for the strategic long and short term mine planning and mine design for the project. You will be required to manage the mine engineering team, ensuring the quality delivery of plans and schedules within pre-defined timeframes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years experience in open-pit operations.
- Asian/offshore experience is essential.
- Working knowledge of open-pit optimisations, pit designs and production scheduling.
- Experience with Gemcom/Surpac and other mining software packages.
Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering and planning team to complete the open pit optimisation and designs to the company’s standards.
- Prepare the annual budget and Life of Mine plan.
- Establish short and medium term planning procedures.
- Regularly review the Life of Mine plan and define mining strategies.
- Manage Geotechnical Engineering programme to ensure that open pit wall designs and appropriate factors of safety are implemented.
- Manage the succession planning of engineers within the team to ensure the development of junior employees so that they can assume positions of increased responsibility.
Within this position you will report directly to the Mine Manager and have Senior Mining Engineers and Surveyors reporting into you.
