Operations Director 营运总监

Full-time at Lind Food (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. in Shanghai

Responsibilities :

General management
1. To support the overall strategic management of the company by establishing effective working relationships with senior colleagues
2. Fully contribute to the design of the Company's business strategy
3. Actively participate in the key management issues (capital shop expansion, refurbishment, training, customer service)
4. Actively support the Business Development Division by ensuring that shop staff, sales staff as well as kitchen staff are fully trained and committed to up-selling
5. Actively support the DBD in the generation of revenue by ensuring the highest possible level of collaboration in Corporate Sales & B2B accounts to maximize yield and profit
6. Conduct routine inspections of all areas of the shops and relevant supportive functions e.g. supply chain

Shop Expansion
1. Fulfill the strategic expansion plan according management's resolution
2. Direct & participate in identification, evaluation and negotiation of new shop locations
3. Open new shops on schedule and budget
4. Ensure the preparation, opening and smooth operation of new shops including design & build, licensing, purchasing, staffing & training, logistic management

Sales Management
1. Implement the delivery system and improve the delivery sales
2. Monitor, analyze and increase the individual shop sales
3. In charge of corporate and B2B accounts, create, manage, generate and increase sales of these accounts
4. Set clear monthly, quarterly and annual sales target, develop and execute action plans to meet and increase sale targets on a constant and steady base
5. Hold weekly sales meeting, analyze sales and address problems, sales skill training for sales & shop staff
6. Establish a CRM system collecting, maintaining and updating customer database. Create a customer service platform tracking customer satisfaction, feedback for product & service improvement; offering a service of excellence
7. Educate, mentor and motivate less experienced team members

Operational Profit Margins
1. To achieve the planned operational profit margins in both shop sales & other distribution channels (internet, delivery, corporate, B2B)
2. Maintaining, updating and adjusting prices of all products. Calculate cost & analyze market price level of competitors to ensure profitability and competitiveness
3. Ensure that costs are controlled in a detailed and structured manner. Analyze costs on a monthly basis and prepare action plans (Cost per shop; cost of other sales channels; food cost; beverage costs; payroll including overtime; other expenses; other outsourced labour or services)
4. Ensure that all labour costs are flexed according to levels of demand / activity / season and that opportunities for a better balance between quality and cost through clustering or outsourcing or both are explored fully
5. To jointly develop and maintain the closest possible understanding of revenue from the DBD to ensure the greatest level of alignment between revenue and cost
6. Ensures that purchasing delivers best quality for the most competitive price is purchased

Management Team Development
1. To manage all the direct reports (e.g. Chef, Shop Managers, Purchasing Mgr, IT & Engineering Mgr) in a professional and motivating fashion
2. Set objectives for each direct report
3. Review performance on a regular and consistent basis
4. Offer coaching and guidance when appropriate
5. Recommend relevant salary reviews
6. Deal effectively with instances of poor performance
7. Identify development needs and future career paths
8. Conduct regular Operations meetings including all direct reports

Employee Management, Training, Productivity & Allocation
1. Recruit high quality employees in conjunction with HR department
2. Ensure sound performance management practices, through recognition and disciplinary action if necessary
3. To ensure the employees within Operations are well managed with clear objectives and well trained and that they are deployed in the most productive way
4. Set clear tasks for each employees
5. Allocate employees to tasks in the most flexible and productive fashion (with HRM)
6. Investigate opportunities for outsourcing
7. Ensure a fully trained team of departmental trainers is in place with departmental training action plans, rolling 3 month training plan (with HRM)
8. Ensure all employees are fully trained in job skills and customer service based on departmental service standards and records are maintained. (with HRM)
9. Ensure effective standards of two-way communication exists for all employees
10. Ensures that all team members attending training sessions are being briefed before and debriefed after
11. Responsible for the participation of all new team members to the Company and departmental induction as well as Entry Training
12. Ensures that work schedules/rosters are written according to management needs and compliance to labour laws

Quality, Service Levels & Brand Standards
1. To ensure the highest standards of quality in all aspects of the Company's operation, guaranteeing that brand values and standards are never compromised
2. Ensure highest possible levels of customer service across the operation
3. Actively follow up on theft, hygiene, complaint reports instituting corrective actions in a fast and effective manne
4. Actively investigate what further reforms to the operation may be necessary to raise standards
5. Ensure that brand standards / use of logo are never compromised

Engineering Operations
1. To oversee the running of an Engineering operation ensuring that all departmental service/legal/safety standards are met consistently
2. Challenge existing levels of expenditure with the engineer ensuring that energy, payroll and other costs are at the lowest possible level consistent with safety and quality standards
3. Ensure effective planning of maintenance works to guarantee standard of product quality
4. Ensures through Chief Engineer that repairs are recorded and dealt with in the quickest possible time

Purchasing
1. To ensure that all supplies are ordered and delivered against clearly defined specifications and within or better than agreed budget limits
2. Define, and gain agreement for, product and price specifications for all supplies and operating equipment
3. Manage, with the Financial Controller/Director of Finance, effective commercial negotiations with suppliers ensuring that the right balance between cost, quality and reliability is maintained
4. To ensure (with the Finance Mgr) that inventory levels are maintained at the lowest possible level

Budget and Fiscal
1. Prepare yearly budgets in conjunction with F&BM/DBD/FM/HR for- revenue; staffing; capital expenditure; costs and expenses
2. Review and approval of all expense accounts for Operations Team
3. Participate in forecast meetings

Requirements:
1. Hospitality/Travel/leisure industry/business administration management professional
2. Ideally, education level: college degree or higher, MBA is a plus
3. Strong commercial acumen, with experience in F&B Management
4. Culturally aware and flexible
5. Excellent people motivator; good communication skills
6. Excellent and fluent command of English, written & spoken
7. Chinese language skills an asset but not a must
8. Computer literacy
