IT Officer
at EU SME Centre in Beijing
The EU SME Centre functions as a Support Service Provider for European SMEs. Specifically, the Centre assists SMEs to establish, develop and maintain commercial activities in the Chinese market – through export and/or investment – by providing support through inter alia the provision of information, matchmaking and networking events and acting as a platform facilitating coordination amongst Member State services and private sector service providers to European SMEs, particularly at the crucial early stages of their market penetration strategy.
The EU SME Centre is operated by a consortium of European Chambers of Commerce, led by the China-Britain Business Council and includes the Benelux, French, German, Italian and Spanish Chambers in Beijing, as well as the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and Eurochambres.
The Centre is now looking for an “IT Officer” for its office in Beijing.
The holder of this position will be responsible for the development, update and maintenance of all EU SME Centre IT needs (e.g. IT office network, email, website, database, etc.).
Main responsibilities:
- Applications support and training (MS Office/opensource softwares)
- General hardware system maintenance and set-up (relocate computers, phone systems, and other IT equipment; cabling, setup/ from photocopier to VC
- General software installation and configuration
- General office & IT and accessory management (stock keeping, procurement...)
- Coordination with local IT provider
- In-house database development
Profile
- Qualifications:
University level education or professional qualification in IT. Excellent Chinese and English language skills, both spoken and written.
- Professional experience:
At least 5 years of professional experience.
Excellent knowledge of internet technologies, opensource softwares
Web development experience with skills in HTML, CSS, PHP and CMS such as Drupal and Joomlah would be an advantage.
Must have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise a multitude of tasks.
