Position Summary
The Financial Controller oversees the book-keeping and financial reporting in an organization and is an integral part of the management team. He/she will oversee the accounting, monitoring and implementation of internal financial controls and their job entails having the entire oversight of a firm’s finances. He/she must be knowledgeable about activities that can make the firm make more profits while keeping away from those that would bring losses to the company.

Education and Qualifications
Excellent communications skills
Preference for 5+ years relevant experience
Self-starter / team player who takes initiative & can operate with minimal guidance
A deep understanding of the accounting principles
A CPA license, MBA or experience in public accounting is desirable
Microsoft Access and Spreadsheet knowledge is desirable
A degree in Financial Accounting and Management
Technology skills (e.g. network administration, website development) a strong asset
Native Chinese speaker & highly proficient English speaker
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborating closely with senior management to develop financial projections for long-term strategic plan
Preparing financial reports, budgets, cost reports and financial forecasts
Mentoring accountants for purposes of ensuring thorough accounting and analysis
Ensuring that the financial records are accurate which includes setting up a system to keep track of our Theme, Short Stay Package (SSP) and hotel records separately
Ensuring that every expense is properly documented
Setting up structure for reimbursements and enforce them-both for daily purchases and when staff is out doing tours
Oversees cashier for purchases by staff and guests
Understanding current accounting systems for food & beverage & strategizing long-term improvements
Benchmarking competitive salaries & benefits packages for staff
Setting up payroll to do deposits electronically
Setting up e-system to integrate the guest experience from booking to check-out
Ensuring that the books of accounts are compiled every end of the month
Maintaining monthly records on all travel agent / internet partners. Possibly be the person to keep track of the incoming guests for these clients too.
Ensuring that the books of accounts are compiled at the end of every financial year
Ensuring that there is fiscal responsibility within the firm’s operations
Ensuring that the decision makers in the firm understand the financial implications of the missions they set for their company in a specific period
Familiarizing with daily operations & guest relations
Responsible for the budgetary control & approves finances to be used in specific projects by the firm based on estimates made by the functional departments
Corresponds with the senior management regarding any financial decisions
Assists with general operations of the hotel when necessary
