Position Summary
The Guest Relations Associate position offers an exceptional opportunity to develop strong professional & leadership skills and is integral part of an ambitious international start-up team. There is ample opportunity to develop on an accelerated professional development track. The position involves a high degree of responsibility which includes assisting all guests efficiently, professionally, courteously and with enthusiasm, in all areas of the hotel, and maintaining The Linden Centre’s high standards of service and hospitality at all times.
Requirements
Excellent communications skills
Preference for 2-3 years relevant experience (e.g. sales, customer service, hospitality)
Self-starter / team-player who takes initiative & can operate with minimal guidance
Curiosity & a passion for people
Technology skills (e.g. network administration, website development) a strong asset
Previous book-keeping & financial skills desirable
Native Chinese speaker & highly proficient English speaker
Responsibilities
Motivate and provide a working environment in which staff are productive, and working together to their strongest ability.
Always remain positive both in front of guests' and with your associates and communicate with guests and staff in a relaxed manner. Remember that many of our guests come to the Linden Centre to leave a hectic life elsewhere.
Ensure positive communication with staff and managers, keeping morale high.
Cover supervisor shift as necessary, using the supervisor's checklist at all times.
Monitor associates uniform on a daily basis, ensure the correct dress code is adhered to, to maintain our professional image.
Liaise with the Guest Relations Manager with regards to VIP's and any special procedures which may be necessary to Reception, advise your team.
Constantly check the handover and ensure all checklists are completed, in the allotted shift time.
Have a thorough understanding of how the shift is operating, reporting any challenges with the Supervisor/Manager.
Handle any guests' problems or complaints in an understanding and hospitable manner.
Be responsive to associates needs and problems.
Communicate these with the Supervisor/Manager.
Provide information to the supervisor on the performance of receptionists in order for their appraisals.
Strive to achieve scouting and up-selling goals by leading by example and motivating associates.
Promote the regions history & culture & hotels' programs & facilities effectively.
Identify departmental training needs and collaborate with the Human Potential Director.
Regularly check and monitor reception stationary levels, liaise with the reception supervisor, in order to maintain consistent par levels.
Strive to achieve single contact resolution for our guests and support staff with their decision-making.
Assists with general operations & special events of the hotel when necessary
