Academic Regional Supervisor
at Foreign HR in Beijing
Location: Beijing
Client introduction:
Our client is a collaboration of experts in the fields of education, research and school management established by alumni of Harvard and Northwestern universities, with representatives of international Montessori organizations. Since its founding, it has utilized educational philosophies and models of successful school management from around the world to improve China's early education sector and establish the country’s premier institution of bilingual early education.
Responsibilities:
1. Academic Supervision
Provide academic leadership, guidance and support to all English teachers within the region
Regularly observe, supervise and evaluate English teachers’ instruction and curriculum delivery
Observe and evaluate each teacher being formally evaluated during probation period
Provide feedback, address issues, and identify follow-up tasks when conducting field visits
Check and evaluate environments, materials, records and reports of teachers
2. Academic Support
Act as a coach and mentor to help teachers expand their repertoire of instructional activities
Work with Regional Academic Coaches to provide academic support within assigned region
3. Academic Training
Provide orientation for new teachers within region
Provide field training to teachers to improve instruction and curriculum delivery
Model effective and appropriate teaching strategies, when required
Identify developmental needs of teachers within the region + organize and conduct meetings and trainings, workshops and professional development
Take pictures/videos of teachers in the field for training purposes
4. Administrative Support
Work together with the Foreign Staff Relationship & Recruitment Coordinator in providing administrative support to foreign teachers within assigned region
Assist in resolving disputes, when deemed necessary
Assist in the recruitment process of English teachers within assigned region
Make recommendations in hiring, retaining, or releasing of teachers
5. Research & Development
Provide feedback to the R&D Center in the effectiveness of the school English Curriculum
Submit curricular change recommendations
Assist in assessing available English educational products and services for children
6. Other Duties and Responsibilities
Help cover classes in the event of an teacher’s extended absence, when needed
Alert the Head of the Academic Department of any relevant issues/concerns
Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities that are inline with the employment contract as instructed by school management.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education
2. Montessori certificate required
3. Leadership experience
4. Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the field of ESL and early childhood
5. TEFL certificate is positive but not necessary
Salary and benefits:
1. Basic Salary: 25,000-35,000 CNY/month (based on experienced; plus benefits).
2. Holidays: Chinese National Holidays
3. Working visa
