International Montessori Kindergarten Principal

Client introduction:
Our client is a collaboration of experts in the fields of education, research and school management established by alumni of Harvard and Northwestern universities, with representatives of international Montessori organizations. Since its founding, it has utilized educational philosophies and models of successful school management from around the world to improve China's early education sector and establish the country’s premier institution of bilingual early education.
Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Management
Manage your teaching assistants to ensure that they are up-to-date and organized to ensure a smooth running of the school.
Assist in managing the daily operations of the campus.
Update inventories of your class’s and campus’s supplies and materials and assist teaching assistants to do the same.
Keep records of expenditure and ensure that stock is ordered in advance and via the correct procedures.
Keep records of students’ attendance and progress (work samples, social/academic record keeping, reports to parents, etc…) and use these records to guide your lesson planning and interactions with the children.
Order appropriate educational supplies and materials for your students in collaboration with other staff members.
Plan and coordinate the curriculum through collaboration with other members of staff.
Maintain electronic and hard copy records of curriculum developments.
Manage your classroom budget.
2. Professional Knowledge and Development
Remain up-to-date on the current trends and developments in education for children ages two to six years old.
Maintain the constant training and development of yourself and of the staff that you work with.
Monitor and periodically evaluate teaching assistants’ performance in line with the School Performance Management Professional Standards.
3. Promotion of the current school and contribution to wider school activities
Promote and the school, its mission statement and educational philosophies.
4. Communication
Maximize the free flow of information with parents, the administrative office and other staff
Communicate with parents and be well prepared for parent conferences, workshops and demonstrations as requested by the administrators, managers and directors.
5. Leadership and Guidance
Encourage the communication between staff, parents and administration so that all parties are presenting a united image of the School.
Requirements:
1. Native English speaker or very fluent in English
2. Management experience
3. Classroom/Teaching experience
4. Mandarin speaker (Preferable but not required)
5. Early education experience (Preferable but not required)
6. Montessori experience (Preferable but not required)
Salary and benefits:
1. Basic Salary: 20,000-25,000 CNY/month (based on experienced plus benefits).
2. Full time, Monday – Friday (1 hour lunch break) as well as some weekends. Notice will be given in advance for weekend activities or meetings
3. Professional Development Training opportunities throughout the year
4. Probation required (2 months at 90% pay)
5. Assistance finding housing (if relocating to Beijing)
6. Work Visa documentation
7. Travel bonuses available with 2-year contracts
8. International medical insurance
9. Chinese and (some) western holidays
10. Minimum 1 school-year commitment required
