Quality Assurance Manager - China

Title: Quality Assurance Manager - China Exempt Status: Exempt
Reports to: Vice President of Quality Assurance
Summary: Responsible for minimizing costs of poor quality and maximize customer satisfaction through coaching and supporting improvements in quality as well as maintaining the company’s Quality Management System.
Essential Functions:
• Administer and maintain the company’s Non-conformance & Corrective Action System
• Maintain Quality Performance Metrics
• Administer the company’s ISO 9000 Quality Management System / Internal Audit processes
• Administer audits of fabricators and sub-fabricators
• Administer compliance program to ensure product compliance with governmental regulations
• Assists in approving and qualifying new company suppliers and fabricators
• Administer the collection, maintenance and review of quality records submitted by suppliers, fabricators and sub-fabricators including paint records, welding records, and dimensional inspection records
• Administer quality standards and procedures
• Administer test plans for project fabrication
• Administer audits of completed and in-process projects
• Administer packaging specification program to reduce shipping damages and maintain conformance to customer requirements
• Assist suppliers, fabricators, sub-fabricators, local supplier quality managers, project managers, and customers with root cause corrective action and other quality related tasks
• Collect voice of the customer data and troubleshoot quality complaints or problems and recommend and/or implement process improvements
• Coordinate companywide continuous improvement program
• Complete Lean Six Sigma projects as assigned
• Assure new customers quality requirements are understood, flowed down, and followed by all relevant functions
• Develops departmental budget and monitors performance to plan
• Support quarterly warranty forecast report and performs warranty analysis in support of cost recovery negotiations with customers and vendors

Technical Skills (required):
• ISO 9001 management systems
• Prior ISO auditing experience
• Data analysis experience
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Bilingual (English & Mandarin)
(Preferred)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• ASQ Quality Auditor certification
• AWS CWI certification
• NACE CIP Level 1, 2, 3
• ASNT NDT certification
• ASME Code experience (especially Section IX welding)
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to type on a keyboard and operate a personal computer.
• Ability to converse over a telephone.
• Ability to perform work within office environment.
• Ability to travel up to 40%, both domestic and internationally
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required. Master’s degree in business preferred.
Experience (preferred):
• Five or more years of previous quality experience
• Prior team-lead experience
