Hospitality Lecturer
at Chengdu University of Technology in Chengdu
Are you a Hospitality industry professional? Do you have a teaching or training background?
The Australian / Sino Joint Cooperation project is a well established and respected education program in China, with over 4000 students successfully graduating from our programs over the last 10 years, leading many to exciting and fulfilling careers or further education both in China and overseas. We are currently seeking a Hospitality lecturer for our program in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China.
This position is for a 10 month term of service (September 2011 to July 2012).
Our program operates at Chengdu University of Technology, offering our students a Vocational Qualification in an 'Advanced Diploma of Hospitality'.
Essential Criteria:
Must be fluent in written and verbal English
Tertiary degree in Business, Hotel management, Hospitality or relevant fields.
Valid hospitality or business industry knowledge and experience.
Excellent organisation skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Strong team spirit.
Strong PC skills, including experience with Word Processing, Excel and PowerPoint.
Duties and responsibilities:
Teach Advanced Diploma of Hospitality program to Chinese tertiary students.
Coordinate student’s practical training (supervision, guidance and assessment).
Maintain accurate student files and assessment records.
Participate in program promotional activities as needed.
Prepare session plans to meet the aims of the lessons and the needs of the students in line with the Training Delivery and Assessment Strategies.
To present lessons at the scheduled times based on session plans prepared in line with the Training Delivery and Assessment Strategies.
To complete all necessary documentation to the standard format of AQTF requirements.
At all times seek to initiate and report on improvement to the services provided.
Preference given to:
People with a Working knowledge of (Australian) SIT07 training package.
(Australian) TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. (or be willing to commence)
People who have lived and worked in China before.
Australian, British, New Zealanders preferred, but experience and a passion to teach are what we are looking for!
Salary and Conditions:
The start date is the 1st September 2011
The salary begins at 11,000 RMB per month, dependant on qualifications.
The contracted hours are up to 24 hours face to face teaching each week plus administration duties as required.
You are provided with a return economy class airfare to your city of residence.
You are provided with private, modern, Western style accommodation with all utilities paid for (except internet usage).
During the term of your contract, you receive approx. 4 weeks paid holiday loading and all Chinese public holidays are considered paid leave.
