High End US University & College Admissions Consultant, full time position in Hangzhou, China

Position Description: Acting as an academic advisor and trainer, the Admissions Consultant shall assist Chinese student clients in devising an application strategy to maximize their chances of being accepted into a top tier U.S. college or university. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join one of China’s most dynamic expanding industries, education services and college/university planning consulting. Our consultants work directly with the very top of Chinese high school and university students who intend to study in the U.S.

Duties:
• Collaborate with Chinese staff in advising students on school selection and application
• Give one-on-one instruction and guidance on how to write high-quality university application essays, resumes and recommendation letters; proofread, edit, and rewrite as fit
• Provide one-on-one admission interview training
• Plan and present staff training workshops regarding the U.S. university application process, university, admission requirements, U.S. education system, etc
• Plan and participate in education conventions and other marketing events

Salary: open to negotiation depending on experience

Applicant Requirements:
• Native English speakers raised in the U.S. , or near-native English
• Chinese language and cultural experiences required
• Strong work ethic and professional character required
• Professional demeanor: confident team player open to constructive criticism
• Very strong oral and written communication skills
• Prefer candidates with background/understanding of elite academic practice and standard with up-to-date knowledge of U.S. education system and application process for top tier U.S. colleges & universities
• Strong academic background
• Proven excellence in academic writing, proofreading and editing
• Keen attention to detail; strong sense of initiative
• Very strong skills in handling stress and working with deadlines
• At least 1 year of experience in teaching and/or academic counseling

*Writing Sample: We strongly prefer that the candidate submit a previously written academic essay or excerpt from a more extended research paper along with the CV. Our final decision will be based upon an informed assessment of your level of academic writing.
