Position:
This position is a part-time position that has potential for rapid promotion to full-time and partner positions. Whetstone and its associates will provide demo classes that lead into twice-weekly courses for students aged 3-7. Your initial responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and teaching class to students, and present polished demo classes to potential students. Classes will emphasize early English learning, beginning from learning the alphabet and leading into recognizing and being able to speak simple words. You will present short content-based lessons that must involve engaging activities. These content-based lessons will be coupled with ‘story time’ style lessons that foster students’ interest in English through entertainment by listening to, answering questions about, retelling, and otherwise participating in the story telling process.
• Communicating with me and your TA about class situation and preparing class material based on feedback.
  By October/November 2016, this position will be considered for promotion to a full-time position, which will include a signing bonus. By Chinese New Year (February 2017), I hope to extend additional managerial and training responsibility to the employee in this position, as well as to offer clearly delineated and significant performance-based bonuses based on performance.

• Previous children’s education experience preferred
• Classes will be taught in English-only, and all Whetstone employees are capable of English speaking/listening, but Mandarin proficiency is preferred
  Benefits, such as travel and rent reimbursement, will be discussed as part of the full time package.
  Compensation is negotiable.

Time and Location:
The teaching hours of this position may include evening and weekends. You may reimburse your work-related travel.
Normal work hours, including lesson prep, may be done from home. Our office is in Xujiahui, and you will be asked to come to the office if work tasks require you to do so. You will not travel to other cities.
