Job Title: ICT Teacher (IGCSE & A-Level)
Salary: 20,000 – 25,000 RMB (before tax) + benefits

Responsibilities:
Overall
Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated ICT curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate;
To teach the subject throughout the school’s IGCSE, AS and A level;
Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a Teacher/Form Tutor;
Facilitate and encourage a learning experience, which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential;
Contribute to raising standards of student attainment;
Share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth;
Mainstream Teaching
Provide students with high quality teaching of ICT curriculum throughout the school;
Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge students;
Use an appropriate range of observation, assessment, monitoring and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives for students of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions, monitoring learners’ progress and levels of attainment.
Curriculum Development and Assessment
Support the Deputy Head (Academic) to develop and refine the ICT curriculum to ensure that the curriculum area provides a range of teaching that complements the school’s strategic objectives, is relevant to the needs of students and examining and awarding bodies;
Support the Deputy Head (Academic) with the assessment of students’ standards.
Operational / Strategic Planning
To support the Deputy Head (Academic) to:-
Ensure the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the curriculum area and department;
Create the department’s development plan and its implementation;
Plan and prepare courses and lessons;
Contribute to the whole school’s planning activities;
Monitor and intervene in student progress within the curriculum.
Departmental Assistance
Maintain appropriate records and to provide relevant accurate and up-to-date information for registers, etc.;
Complete the relevant documentation to assist in the tracking of students;
Track student progress and use information to inform teaching and learning;
Communicate effectively with parents of students as appropriate;
Follow agreed policies for communications in the school;
Contribute to the process of the ordering and allocation of equipment and materials;
Assist Deputy Head (Academic) to identify resource needs and to contribute to the efficient/effective use of physical resources;
Cooperate with other staff to ensure a sharing and effective usage of resources to the benefit of the school, department and the students.
Staff Development
Take part in the school’s staff development programme by participating in arrangements for further training and professional development;
Continue personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods;
Engage actively in the Performance Management Review process;
Ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support;
Support the Deputy Head (Academic) to contribute positively to effective working relations within the school.
Pastoral Support
Support the pastoral work of the school by taking on the role of a Tutor;
Play a part in the broader school life through different extra-curricular activities and events; participate in running of a successful international boarding school.
Requirements:
Educated to degree level and hold qualified teacher status;
Organised and committed to the job role;
Experience of working in a teaching position in this subject area for at least five years;
Excellent writing skills;
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products;
Operate as an effective team member;
Clear and confident communication skills, able to liaise at all levels and with all members of the school community;
The ability to work in settings of a newly opened school;
The ability to adjust to a new cultural environment;
The ability to work with international staff of a new school and be passionate and ambitious about the success of the school;
Be resilient and able to work well under pressure and manage your time effectively;
Effective and influential communication skills, especially with those from other cultural and linguistic backgrounds;
High cultural intellect: sensitivity to cultural differences;
The ability to establishing good working relationships with a wide range of people including students, parents, and colleagues.
Desirable
Experience of curricular innovation and development;
Previous experience of teaching ICT to Asian students;
Experience in teaching IGCSE and A level;
Experience in leading a wide range of co-curricular activities or academic enrichment related to the subject;

Knowledge of the particular difficulties faced by EAL students;
