International High School Principal
at Weming Education Group in Beijing
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION
Job Title: High School Principal (1.0 FTE) (Grades 7-12)
Location: Beijing Wenquan Weiming International School (Preparatory), Beijing
Reports To: Principal of International Dept.
Starting Date: August. 2019 (Two-year Commitment required, the earlier, the better)
Summary:
This position is responsible for the leadership, administration and supervision of a high school and its programs. The high school principal sets clear, consistent standards for academic achievement and establishes a school-wide focus on preparing all students for college. It promotes the success of all staff and students at the high school by facilitating the development, articulation and implementation of a vision of teaching and learning that supports Weiming’s mission and vision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including the following, but not limited to:
1. Pedagogic, Academic and Instructional Leadership
Lead the school’s vision, mission, and strategic goals to support college-readiness and academic and socioemotional success for all students;
Lead the curriculum development and drive rapid and dramatic instructional improvements by implementing strategies in line with the priority areas identified in the school development plan;
Support and supervise the design of rigorous, standards-based instruction with measurable outcomes;
Assist in aligning the Chinese National curriculum standards, international curriculum standards with Weiming Intl’ Education standards, bilingual immersion, the Chinese Thread, and other school characteristics;
Develop the academic programs to meet the standards and requirements of international accreditation requirements;
Implement an observation and feedback cycle that ensures continuous improvement in teaching and learning;
Analyze students’ achievement results to identify areas of needs;
Develop and implement a professional development plan to address identified areas of needs; and
Develop a collegial environment that supports teacher leadership, collaboration, and growth.
2. Management and Operation
Comply with all Weiming policies, National laws, and legal agreements;
Assume responsibilities for implementation and observance of all school’s policies and regulations by the staff and students;
Ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the high School;
Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for students , staff and families;
Direct and approve high school publications for admissions and marketing purposes;
Assist HR department with teaching faculty’s annual recruitment plan and oversee the recruitment and hiring of diverse, highly-qualified staff;
Apply teacher and staff performance management systems in a way that ensures a culture of continuous improvement, support, and accountability;
3. Family and Community Engagement
Actively advocate for and engage family and community;
Strengthen teacher and staff capacity to cultivate and sustain meaningful partnerships with families of diverse backgrounds and with community members that support student achievement and student well-being; and
Manage partnerships.
4. Serving Students:
Liaising with the Admissions Department concerning student applications and admissions to the high School;
Work with the Dean of Students, all teachers and other relevant staff to ensure a consistently high quality of student life across the high school;
Monitor student performance together with the Dean of Students;
Oversee student academic counselling, college counselling and course selection.
5. Financial Leading and Managing
Assist with the preparation of the high school’s budget and monitor expenditures; and
Strategically align people, time and money to drive student achievement.
6. Other relevant responsibilities
Be responsible for building up connections with international education resources’ channels, including but not limited to government offices, non-government K-12 schools, universities, other educational organizations related with academic, PE, competition, arts exchanges, etc.
RERUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Qualifications:
1. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
a) Valid administrator license or other appropriate education licenses/certificates;
b) Valid secondary teaching certificate preferred with necessary endorsements or English as a second language teaching certificate;
2. Education and Training: Master Degree or higher educational degree; Training should include areas of school administration, supervision, and curriculum;
3. Experience: At least three years successful Secondary School Teaching and leadership Experience;
4. Non-Criminal Record Certificate
Language Skills: Highly proficient in written and verbal communication, ESL training and interest in teaching and working with non-native English speaking students and school faculty. Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
5. Computer skills: General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use technology for research, data management, communications and other instruction.
6. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands: Capability to perform duties normally associated with school management. Medical Check-up required by Chinese government should be satisfied according to relevant procedures.
Work Environment: School building consisting of office space, classrooms and specialty facilities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary: TBD by placement on School salary scale, annual salary scale is RMB600,000—RMB1,000,000 including monthly salary and annual performance bonus.

1. Meal Allowance: The employee is eligible for meal allowance every working day.
2. Holiday Allowance: Employees may enjoy holiday allowance according to the school’s policy. Normally the holidays refer to Labor Day Holiday, National Day Holiday, New Year, and Chinese Spring Festival.
3. Preferential Policy of Teachers’ Children Entering School: The school will provide tuition-discount enrollment into the school for dependents of principals or other teaching staff according to the school policy.
4. Air tickets Allowance: Up to 20,000 RMB (two round-trip flights for reimbursement).
5. Housing Allowance: The school will support principals with certain amount of housing allowance monthly for renting a well-facilitated two bedroom apartment within 5 KM distance away from the school or school may provide well-facilitated apartments for utilizing.
6. Visa Fee: The school will reimburse up to RMB2, 000 in total for visa issuance fees incurred at home and abroad.
7. Commercial Insurance: Including medical insurance, life insurance or social insurance according to related stipulations of the state, province and municipality.
8. Annual Physical Examination: Normally the school will provide annual physical examination free of charge for employees.
Holidays:
Principals will enjoy fully paid public holidays regulated by the government and school and paid summer & winter holidays covered in the contract period according to the school’s compensation policy.
