Logistic manager

Company Background:
Client is India’s leading exporter and importers of chemical
Main Responsibilities:
Oversee the freight rate request process:
Ensure: Timeliness and accuracy & Efficient and Effective process
Develop performance metrics identifying top performers and patterns
Run monthly analysis of performance metrics for strategy formulation and negotiations;
Regulatory Requirements:
Coordinate DOT requirements with the Safety Department and provide to new suppliers to ensure the safe and proper labelling of export products
Coordination of label and marking requirements
Provide new suppliers with packaging and loading requirements and monitor shipments to ensure compliance;
Manage annual ocean freight bid
Work closely with the Hubs in each region for the preparation of RFP/RFQ’s and for contract negotiation and renewal;
Claims
Evaluate, document, process claims
Interface with Legal, Insurance Companies and other relevant parties;
Timely resolution of freight billing issues;Supervise Logistics Specialist and provide guidance regarding day to day processing of exported products and dray considerations;Quality Control Process
Monitor and log all logistical non-conformances
Determine root causes and long term resolutions
Implement resolutions to prevent future occurrences;
Monitor shipment status and provide timely shipping advice to overseas colleagues worldwide;Manage relationship with ocean carriers and domestic forwarding companies.
Qualification & Experience:
Five or more years international freight logistics experience, with ocean carriers and domestic dray;
Knowledge of China Export Regulations for Chemicals;
Demonstrate experience to successfully create a strategic approach to the freight bid process;
Ability to prepare, execute and analyse annual freight bids;
Chinese Customs Broker license a definite plus;
Strong analytical, strategic and problem solving skills;
Experience in the Chemical industry preferred;
Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently;
A positive energetic attitude, self-confidence, and strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are a must;
Bachelor’s Degree with major course of study in logistics, transportation or international business preferred; Exception computer skills and highly proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word;
Fluent in written and spoken English.
