Educator (ESL, humanities, STEM)
at Shang Learning in Beijing
Shang Learning offers small group classes (max 8 students) and individual classes as part of an after-school program to help Chinese students prepare for studying abroad. We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Educators in Beijing. We offer a variety of skills courses (such as Public Speaking and Essay Writing) and subject courses (such as US History and Shakespeare) to students ages 12-16, and we also offer elementary level courses focused on ESL, humanities, and sciences for students ages 6-12. We are looking for an experienced teacher who can help us teach students in both of these age groups. This role would involve working 40 hours per week and involves teaching on Saturday and Sunday, with two weekdays as rest days. If you join us, you won't be doing ineffective lecture-style classes; our educational style is Socratic and interactive.

Required Skills and Experience
· Able to take ownership and initiative as an educator and mentor
· At least two years of full-time teaching experience
· Able to commit for at least one year
· Native or native-like English language skills
Desired Skills and Experience
· Graduates of top universities have a distinct advantage
· Experience working with Chinese students is a plus
· Experience working with both age ranges (8-12, or 12-16) is a plus
· Experience teaching an ESL curriculum is a plus
Roles and Responsibilities
· Teach a variety of courses with 1 to 6 students in the chosen age range (8-12, or 12-16)
· Improve existing courses and develop new courses
Compensation Package
· Gross salary range of 17,000 – 23,000 RMB (depending on qualifications)
· Paid holidays for all major Chinese holidays, plus 15 days of paid time off per year
· Z-Visa sponsorship
· Health Insurance
· Airfare reimbursement up to $1000 after your first year
· Annual bonuses based on performance and company profitability
